Mary Ann Downey Interior Design is a comprehensive design firm established in 1979. The design group offers a broad range of residential and commercial interior design consulting services: concept development, space planning, construction project management and administration, interior architectural detailing, lighting design, color development, and materials specifications. Additionally, they select and procure custom design furnishings for clients’ special needs. They also provide for the fabrication of custom window coverings, bedding and other soft furnishings. The practice employs design interns, AutoCAD drafting and administrative personnel.
Mary Ann Downey, the principal designer, and her colleague, Alicia Brown, have a long list of satisfied clients, having completed a total of 32 years of residential and commercial experience. The firm has been noted in various magazine and newspaper publications such as Sacramento Magazine, the Sacramento Bee, and the Business Journal. Mary Ann has also made guest appearances on local television stations. In 2004 their Small Business Administration project won the esteemed McGraw Hill Best of California Award. In 2006, they received the Nari National Coty Award for an entire house remodel. MAD Design has been a participant in numerous charitable Showhouses throughout it’s 27 years.
